Welcome Canadian Members and Non-Profits!

canadaO Canada! This month, Op4G is welcoming Canadian members and non-profits, from the mountains of British Columbia to the shores of Nova Scotia.

As Canada has over 35 million residents, Op4G’s aim is to significantly increasing its partner- and membership base. This, in turn, will allow for better targeting and survey completion success. More importantly, it will raise greater funds than ever for North American charities.

Currently, Canadian members have the option of donating their Op4G earnings to Canada Cares, a non-profit that celebrates and recognizes caregivers across Canada. Options will grow, however, as Op4G adds new Canadian partners.

So if you have friends or family north of the border, please inform them of Op4G and ask them to register with us today!  Also, if you know a Canadian non-profit, please refer them through here.

Op4G's Volunteer of the Month: Margaret Marek Rohter!

chicagoOur most recent sweepstakes winner is…. Margaret Marek Rohter! Margaret supports Big Brothers Big Sisters Metro Chicago, making them our “Non-Profit of the Month”!

Margaret joined Op4G three years ago as one of our organization’s earliest members. At the time, she was involved with another Op4G partner, One Brick, and noticed the Op4G logo on their website. Margaret likes the Op4G model as it is “easy to do” and allows you to take surveys “at your own convenience”. It is “not time consuming” and “fits into [her] schedule”.

Margaret selected BBBS Metro Chicago as her Op4G non-profit because she knew people in the organization and greatly respected their work in the community. In particular, she admired the mentors, as they “help a lot of young people that need an interest or role model”, steering them “in a different direction than [where] their surroundings may lead them”.

Margaret plans to continue taking Op4G surveys for BBBS Chicago, noting that “every little bit can help”. She is also confident that she will qualify for more surveys going forward, thanks to the recent demographic update.

Thank you, Margaret, and congratulations from Op4G!

Online Lupus Study Begins July 11th

UPDATE – This study has closed –  Please help the Lupus Alliance Of Long Island/Queens and the Lupus Foundation of America (DC / MD / VA Chapter) by taking a quick survey on July 11th. Each qualified survey completion will result in a $20.00 donation to your non-profit (up to 500 total surveys / $10,000). The initial wave of this study will be open for a total of 7 days only.

The goal of this research study, is to better understand the symptoms, side effects, and quality of life of people living with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

For this study, individuals with SLE will be asked to complete online surveys over the next 6 months. By repeating the surveys over several months we will gain new knowledge on how symptoms and quality of life change over time. This information will help researchers design better therapies for SLE and understand the impact of SLE therapies for patient well-being.

This study is a very unique opportunity to learn more about this disease. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of SLE patients. You participation is greatly appreciated.

Our $500 Sweepstakes Winner: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago!

bbbsBig Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) has done it again! For the second month in a row, the non-profit is one of our sweepstakes winners!

This time, the Chicago chapter has won $500. BBBS of Metropolitan Chicago is the city’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network. It matches adult volunteers (“Bigs”) with youth (“Littles”) for one-on-one mentoring. Sessions generally occur 2-4 times a month either on-site or in the local community. Over time, these sessions increase the odds that “Littles” will succeed in school, avoid violence and illegal activities, and build stronger relationships with their parents and peers.

BBBS Chicago is one of 14 Big Brother Big Sister chapters partnered with Op4G. Combined, these chapters have 2,521 Op4G members who have donated over $30,957! If you are interested in “helping every child reach their potential”, consider supporting BBBS through Op4G today!
